Practice Management - offering continuing education opportunities and
technical assistance that is easily accessed by our members, including:
- CME programs with leading national and regional experts
- Technical assistance and information dissemination to medical office staff through the
Quad City Medical Group Managers Association and other venues
- Monthly bulletins alerting members to important developments in health care policy,
federal and state regulations, and changes in insurance practices impacting the profession
Patient Advocacy - ensuring residents of the Quad City area receive quality care
through:
- physician information and referrals services
- assistance to patients with questions involving health care coverage
- resolution of quality care concerns
Policy Advocacy - tackling the important health policy issues of today, we are:
a grassroots forum linked to advocacy efforts at the regional, state, and national levels
involving issues related to health insurance reform, antitrust relief, transforming
Medicare, changing the medical liability laws, and protecting patient rights in the
managed care era
Public Education - promoting the medical profession and increasing understanding
of health care issues by:
- representing the views and perspectives of physicians in the local media
- disseminating information to the public on important health care topics
- providing opportunities for members to share their expertise and through agreements with
the media
- coordinating a speakers' bureau as a public service to the community
Health Care Coverage - for those physicians who are also members of the Rock Island
County Medical Society, access to high-quality, affordable health care coverage (including coverage for employees and dependents)
